Dukan diet for weight lossWould you like to lose weight by 5 kilograms a week? The diet of the French nutritionist Pierre Dukan will help you to achieve great results. The diet is based on the consumption of low carbohydrate food. The recommended duration of the diet makes up a few months. The Dukan diet is very balanced and multivarious, so it could be used throughout life.

The Dukan diet is designed for weight loss but it contributes to the normalization of metabolism and body cleansing as well. The diet is composed of four phases. There are some basic rules for the whole diet:

- It is necessary to drink at least 1.5 liters of purified water every day;

- It is necessary to eat oat bran every day;

- It is necessary to put daily walks, which duration is at least 20-30 minutes, into practice;

- It is necessary to carry out moderate physical activity.

The first phase is an attack on the excessive kilograms. At the first stage, the process of breakdown of excessive fats, which could cause some discomfort and dryness of the mouth, happens.

Duration of the first phase is determined individually, depending on the amount of excessive kilograms:

1) 10-20 kg of the excessive weight - duration of the diet should be 3-5 days;

2) 20-30 kg - duration should be 5-7 days;

3) more than 30 kg - duration of the first phase of the diet should be 5-10 days.

In the first phase, dieters are allowed to eat protein food products (skinless meat of turkey and chicken), veal liver, seafood, eggs, skimmed dairy products, spices (seasonings, garlic, onion and salt in small quantities). It is obligatory to eat 1.5 tablespoons of oat bran daily.

In the first phase, it is necessary to exclude the following products: sugar, boiled duck meat, meet of goose, rabbit, pork, beef, lamb.

The second phase of the Dukan diet is called "cruise" and lasts for so long as required weight will be reached. In the second phase of the diet, two types of nourishment alternate: protein and vegetables. Depending on the amount of excessive weight, the alternation continues, respectively, with weight:

- less than 10 kg – pure protein days - proteins accompanied with vegetables each alternate day;

- over 10 kg - alternating 5/5 days.

It is obligatory to use in the second phase two tablespoons of oat bran daily. The nourishment could be multivarious: all vegetables, excepting starch-containing ones, rice and cereals. Dieters are allowed to eat adjika sauce, pepper, seasonings, milk, garlic, pickling cucumbers, gelatin, fat-free cocoa, one teaspoon of 3-4% cream, three tablespoons of white or red wine.

The third phase of the Dukan diet is consolidation of the reached results. Its duration depends on the number of lost kilograms (10 days of consolidation per one kilogram of weight loss).

During this period, dieters are allowed to eat all the products from the first phase, vegetables from the second phase, one portion of fruit, bread (2 pieces), ripened cheese (no more than 40 grams), starch-containing food products. It is necessary to consume 2.5 tablespoons of oat bran every day.

The fourth phase of the diet is stabilization. It is recommended to follow two basic rules: to eat three tablespoons of oat bran every day and to organize the day of pure proteins once a week.
